SET opens corporate office in North Logan, Utah

LOGAN, UTAH – Space Environment Technologies has opened a corporate satellite office in North Logan, Utah. As part of a collaborative partnering activity between SET and the Utah State University Technology Commercialization Office, SET’s new satellite office will enable students from USU’s Space Weather Center and Utah employees of SET to interact on projects in a research campus environment. Dr. W. Kent Tobiska, President of SET and Director of the USU Space Weather Center, said “This new opportunity is an example of industry and academia partnership to further the commercialization of applications for ionospheric models to manage space weather hazards. Those hazards include outages to navigation and communication systems due to a space weather disturbed ionosphere. The USU Global Assimilative Ionosphere Measurements (GAIM) model is the world standard for ionosphere specification and forecasting. SET will work with USU SWC to form commercial activities based on GAIM.”
